Welcome to the drone component compatibility and specification web application (the Platform). This Platform is owned and operated by AOS RC LTD, a company registered in England under company number 16332943 (referred to as “AOS RC”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
By clicking “I Agree” on the initial pop-up window, or by accessing, browsing, or using this Platform in any manner, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms of Use in full. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use the Platform.
We may update these terms from time to time. It is your responsibility to check for changes periodically. Your continued use of the Platform following any changes signifies your acceptance of the updated terms.
This Platform is designed as an interactive educational and informational aid for the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) drone building community. It aggregates technical specifications gathered from public retailer and manufacturer sources, uses artificial intelligence to interpret those specifications and suggest potential builds, displays regional retail availability, and may incorporate proprietary AOS Lab testing data where such testing has been carried out.
The parts and categories covered by the Platform include, but are not limited to, airframes, motors, propellers, Electronic Speed Controllers (ESCs), Flight Controllers (FCs), batteries, cameras, Video Transmitters (VTXs), radio receivers, FPV goggles, radio transmitters, and GPS sensors.
This Platform is free to use because we operate as an affiliate marketer. We want to be completely transparent about how it is funded:
The compatibility logic and technical specifications displayed rely heavily on data reported by product manufacturers and retailer websites. AOS RC does not independently verify the validity, accuracy, or completeness of this third-party data; the Platform merely reflects what has been stated by external parties. You must check the official manufacturer specifications before finalising any build.
Where the Platform displays results or rankings from AOS Lab testing, this testing has been conducted independently and according to a proprietary, standardised protocol designed by AOS RC. There are no universally established or legally mandated sector testing protocols for drone components; our tests represent one specific set of outcomes under specific conditions, and testing by others may yield different results.
The Platform indicates component compatibility with a tiered flag system:
If you choose to bypass these warnings — such as by ticking “Show incompatible parts” — you accept full responsibility for that decision. All ultimate buying and assembly choices are yours alone.
Because manufacturer and retailer information is inconsistent, the Platform incorporates automated estimates for certain elements where data is missing. For example, where a component’s weight is not publicly listed, the Platform may display an estimated weight based on the average of comparable components in that category (such estimates are flagged). If precise metrics are essential, you must conduct your own research.
Any flight times displayed are purely theoretical, automatically calculated estimates for guidance only. Actual flight times depend on many variables, including component tolerances, battery health, environmental conditions, payload, and flying style.
The “suggested build” feature is powered by an automated algorithm and is not infallible. These suggestions are intended as starting points; the algorithm can make errors or recommend suboptimal configurations. It is your responsibility to critically evaluate whether a suggested build is safe, legal, and appropriate for your needs.
Constructing, soldering, and operating drones involves inherent hazards, including volatile lithium polymer (LiPo) battery risks, chemical and heat hazards from soldering, high-speed propeller dangers, and electrical short circuits. By using this Platform, you acknowledge these risks and accept responsibility for your interaction with such hazards.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AOS RC LTD, its directors, employees, and developers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages, including personal injury, property damage, financial loss, legal penalties, or the loss or destruction of drone components arising from your use of the Platform, reliance on its compatibility logic, or the assembly of a drone based on its data. Nothing in these Terms shall limit or exclude our liability for death or personal injury caused by our proven negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under the laws of England and Wales. The Platform is provided strictly on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis without warranties of any kind.
This Platform contains links to external retailer websites. When you click these links you leave our Platform, and AOS RC has no control over the content, privacy policies, or security of those sites. AOS RC is strictly an informational provider and affiliate marketer — not a retailer, wholesaler, or distributor. Any purchase is made exclusively between you and the retailer; AOS RC is not a party to that contract and accepts no responsibility for order fulfilment, shipping, faulty goods, warranties, returns, refunds, or customer-service disputes. Direct any purchase queries solely to the retailer.
All intellectual property rights in this Platform — including the design, software code, user interface, graphics, proprietary compatibility algorithms, data structures, and any AOS Lab testing results and methodologies — are the exclusive property of AOS RC LTD or its licensors, protected by copyright, database rights, and other laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Platform for your own research. You must not:
All product names, logos, brands, and trademarks displayed belong to their respective manufacturers or retailers. Their display is purely for identification and does not imply endorsement beyond the disclosed affiliate relationships.
You agree to use this Platform only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of, or restrict the use by, any third party.
This Platform is a free public utility provided strictly on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis. We make no warranties regarding its operation, the accuracy of its automated functions, or the availability of its content. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free access; maintenance, upgrades, or faults may cause downtime, and access may be restricted or withdrawn at any time. The Platform relies on automated gathering of publicly available data from third-party retailer websites, which are beyond our control — if a retailer changes their site, blocks our data collection, ends an affiliate agreement, or goes down, the data shown may become outdated, incomplete, or unavailable, and AOS RC accepts no liability for such disruptions.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless AOS RC LTD, its directors, officers, employees, and authorised agents, from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Platform, or your violation of any applicable law, civil aviation regulation, or the rights of any third party. This obligation continues after your use of the Platform ends.
You may terminate this agreement at any time by discontinuing your use of the Platform. We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate your access, or block your IP address, at any time without notice if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or your actions may harm other users, our systems, our infrastructure, or our reputation. Rights and obligations that accrued before termination continue to apply.
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time; when we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. It is your responsibility to review these terms periodically. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Platform.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Notice, constitute the entire agreement between you and AOS RC LTD regarding your use of the Platform. If any provision is found unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable, it shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary or severed, without affecting the remaining provisions. Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts any mandatory statutory rights you hold as a consumer under UK law (including the Consumer Rights Act 2015).
These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. A person who is not a party to these Terms has no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 to enforce any of them.
