Getting started
When you first open the app, check that the currency is set correctly in the top bar
so you're seeing prices in your local currency. Then have a look at the component
categories on the left-hand side.
Buy and Fly category: If you're just looking for a complete drone, this is
where to start. You can scroll through complete drones and search by name or brand.
Build your own: The tool is really designed for people who want to build
their own drone. Select each component category in turn, starting with the frame.
Feedback
If at any point you find a bug or have an idea for a feature, click the Feedback
button. This opens a completely anonymous feedback form. Put in a short summary of
what's wrong or what could be improved — it really helps us improve the app for the
entire FPV community.
Frame
Filters: Use the filters to zero in on the types of frames you're interested
in. For a five-inch build, set max prop size to between four and five inches.
Search: Search by name or brand — for example, searching “AOS” brings up the
AOS 5 frame kit.
Adding to cart: Select a frame and add it to your basket. The cart appears at
the bottom and can be expanded to review your selections.
Motors
Once a frame is in the cart, the motors category will only show motors that are
compatible with the frame you've selected — meaning the same mounting pattern and
appropriate prop size.
Show incompatible parts: Tick this to see the full range if you want to
search for something specific you know will work.
Stock filter: Lets you show only in-stock parts, or all parts including
out-of-stock.
Voltage and mounting filters: Select your recommended voltage and motor
mounting (e.g. 16x16) to narrow down to suitable options. KV will also be filtered to
a suitable range automatically if you choose a recommended voltage.
Propellers
The propeller category shows only props compatible with the frame you selected —
between 90 and 100% of the maximum prop diameter the frame supports.
Filtering: You can filter by blade count, pitch, or diameter. The mounting
hole size is automatically limited to match the motor you selected.
Electronics
The electronics section is one of the most complex parts of the configurator.
Stack (recommended for beginners): Buying a stack ensures your flight
controller and ESC will work together — they're designed to plug into each other and
communicate perfectly.
Separate ESC and flight controller: Expand the electronics section to choose
these independently. You'll need to double-check pin compatibility yourself, as this
cannot be checked programmatically yet.
Current warnings: If a motor's maximum current is slightly above an ESC's
maximum continuous rating, the app shows a yellow warning. This is usually fine unless
you plan to run full throttle continuously — in that case, ensure the motor's peak
current is within the ESC's rating.
Battery
Browse batteries by voltage, C rating, and capacity. Filtering by connector type
(e.g. XT60) narrows down the options quickly. The app will flag if the battery's peak
current is slightly below the motors' combined peak draw — this is informational rather
than a hard incompatibility.
Capacitor
Optional. If you want to add a capacitor to the build, browse and select one here.
Otherwise, skip this category.
Video system
As with electronics, you can choose a complete video system (camera + VTX + antenna
as a bundle) from the main category, or expand the section to pick a separate camera
and VTX independently. Picking a complete video system also covers the VTX antenna, so
there's no need to choose one separately.
Analog example: Select a standalone camera (e.g. RunCam Phoenix) then a
standalone VTX (e.g. TBS Unify Pro). You'll also need to select a VTX antenna
separately.
Compatibility filters: The app filters make it fast to find components that
work together.
Receiver
Select your receiver protocol filter (e.g. ExpressLRS) to narrow down the options.
Choose a diversity or Gemini receiver as appropriate for your setup.
GPS
Optional. If your build requires GPS, browse the GPS category and select a module.
Compatible options are shown based on your build so far.
Reviewing the cart and checkout
Total cost: The cart shows a running total across all selected components.
Buy links: The cart provides links to all components and suggests retailers
where you can find them.
Recommended spares: The app suggests one spare motor and one spare frame (the
most common breakages). You can also add spare props or any other spares you want.
Checkout: Hit Checkout to get outbound links straight to the retailers'
official product pages. Double-check component descriptions and compatibility one more
time before you buy.
